Since our birth in 1998 we have been servicing the greater Ethekwini and surrounding towns with hot off the press content grounded on community relevance. We started transmitting in 1999 through short term licenses until a permanent licence was granted by ICASA – SA’s licensing authority. Since then, our listener-ship has catapulted our growth and spurred us to become the leading community station in the province.
Our primary focus is informing & entertaining our target audiences who range between 25-50 and form part of Ism’s 4-7.
Izwi LoMzansi identifies with its listeners by way of a target-oriented content mix, and, through quality programming, we also aim to satisfy listeners’ needs in order to maintain our majority market share in the province. As a market leader in the community broadcast arena in KZN, Izwi LoMzansi sets the pace for today’s audience in community radio.
Apart from the thought-provoking content in topic discussions, the station’s programming is predominantly driven by educational content, with informed presenters on-air.
Providing practical advice & expertise within a complex, dynamic industry, Izwi LoMzansi aims to maintain an ethos of equal opportunity among staff, resulting in an environment that is democratic, efficient and friendly and to this extent. We are proud to be BEE compliant with an exceptional AA+ rating.
