ABOUT IZWI LOMZANSI.
Dubbed KZN's No.1 Community Radio Station, Izwi LoMzansi, also known as IZWI98FM, is a 24-Hour Community Broadcaster in IsiZulu-medium information, entertainment, music and talk radio.
Founded in 1998, Izwi LoMzansi broadcasts to the Greater eThekwini Metropolitan municipality and started transmitting in 1999 through short term licenses. Since then, members of staff have been able to develop valuable experience in radio broadcasting and production expertise in the station's four primary departments, namely Marketing, News Room, Presenters (on-air staff) and Production.
On a regular basis. Izwi LoMzansi recruits trainee journalists on attachment from the major institutes as part of its commitment to the community we broadcast to. Our primary business is 60% Talk and 40% Music with content focused on information, entertainment, music and talk radio station targeting audiences in the 24-49 and 16-35 age groups.
Izwi LoMzansi identifies with its modern listeners by way of a target-oriented content mix, and, through quality programming, aims to satisfy listeners' needs in order to maintain majority market share. As a market leader in the community broadcast arena in KZN, Izwi LoMzansi sets the pace and trend for today's audience in community radio.
Apart from the thought-provoking content in topic discussions, the station's programming is predominantly driven by educational talk-oriented content, with top presenters on-air.

Izwi Lomzansi broadcasts around the clock – 24 hours a day – under the following schedules.
AD MATERIAL & INPUT
Three adverts per break. We use Mp3 and CD’s.
There is a talk and music quota of 60% and 40% respectively with local music constituting 80% of the playlist. Contemporary Talk and Current affairs are the daily feature of the station programming.
Greater Ethekwini municipality and surroundings. There are transmission spillages reaching as far south as Port Shepstone and Eshowe in the North with midlands reaching Cato Ridge.
FORMAT & POSITIONING
We are a community venture that broadcast daily issues faced by the Greater Ethekwini Municipality residents. Our primary target audience are males and females age group 16-79.
